Aloe vera

Aloe vera (Aloe vera) is a stemless succulent whose thick leaves hold a clear, cooling gel. It is among the most widely used plants for soothing skin.

The clear inner gel is applied externally to support skin comfort; the bitter latex just under the leaf skin is a separate, far stronger substance and is not for casual use.
